Primjena: najčešće se konzumira kao kaša i gotovo svatko ima svoju omiljenu, najbržu, najjednostavniju metodu i okus. Najčešća primjena: 25-30 g zobenih pahuljica kuhati u jednoj i pol do dva puta većoj količini vode ili biljnog mlijeka 5-10 minuta uz stalno miješanje. Druga najlakša metoda je namočiti pahuljice preko noći u istoj količini tekućine i ponovno zagrijati ujutro. Arome možemo ograničiti samo našom maštom, može se napraviti slatka, slana, sa sviježim ili sušenim voćem, čipsom od kokosa, uz dodatak kao praha ili rogača u prahu, ali može se konzumirati i u naravi.
Zobena kaša se često koristi za izradu kolača i keksa, kao dodatak nadjevima i dizanom tijestu.
